FOR TODAY December 29, 2008...

Outside my window... it's dark, but it's still Monday!
I am thinking... of how nice it is to have Hubby home for his winter break!
I am thankful for... Baby N born today!
From the learning rooms... The kids are enjoying learning about numbers and reading new books.
From the kitchen... nothing exciting as I am working on lots of projects this week while Hubby is here.
I am wearing... sweats and a flannel pj top (it's cold in our little tin shack!)
I am creating... lots of digital scrapbooking pages still!
I am going... to see Baby N tomorrow and his Mommy at the hospital.
I am reading... Pagan Christianity by Frank Viola (Sounds weird but quite interesting!)
I am hoping... that I can get a lot accomplished with Daddy home this week to do school so I can organize.
I am hearing... Daddy reading to my children (melts my heart!) repeat from last week - still true!
Around the house... Moving my office and bedroom around and going through storage so lots of boxes and stuff in temporary places.
One of my favorite things... the smell of newborn babies! :o)
A few plans for the rest of the week: cleaning and creating
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
I couldn't decide on just one, so I'm sharing two of my favorites from this week...
I made this from Jen Ulasiewicz' "Primitive Christmas" kit and my best friend Shelley's awesome snow pictures! She emailed them and I tweaked the lighting a little and this is the second layout I've made with them.
And I've made several layouts with this photograph of my great Grandparents' wedding in 1905, which is one of my all time favorite photographs. I made it sepia for this and I love it that way. When I saw the lace backgrounds from Jen Ulasiewicz, I thought immediately of this picture! I made this from about four of Jen's kits. If you want the details, hop on over to my ForgetMeNots Design blog, link at right.
Thanks for visiting. I'll try to catch up on emails soon!

I am thinking... of my brother Bruce, my friend Julie and my cousin Skyla that are celebrating birhtday today!

I am thankful for... my best friend Shelley who lets me sob on her shoulder whenever I need to! :o) (Repeat from last week... still holds true!)

From the learning rooms... We have been learning God's story through the Jesse tree devotionals.

From the kitchen... turkey leftovers.

I am wearing... blue knit pants and matching top.

I am creating... scrapbook pages at Faith Sisters

I am going... to my SIL's tomorrow

I am reading... Reimagining the Church by Frank Viola and Right-Brained Children in a Left-Brained World by Jeffrey Freed and Laurie Parsons. (still)

I am hoping... that God will miraculously heal Jack's cancer and (selfishly) that I will win the Nikon 2X that Pioneer Woman is giving away!

I am hearing... Daddy reading to my children (melts my heart!)

Around the house... We have Pixie, a wonderful Sheltie, "hoovering" up the carpet. (Doggy sitting for a friend)

One of my favorite things... the comfort of old friends that you don't have to explain yourself too.
A few plans for the rest of the week: visiting SIL/BIL, having a lone guest over for Christmas day.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

This is one of my favorite layouts so far. It is made using photos and writing from my great, great, Grandpa, Sedgewick Hopkins of Michigan. I used Silvia Romeo's Old Time Shoppe kit from Heritage Scrap.

One of my favorite things... silence!

A few plans for the rest of the week: starting to bake for the cookies that we take to the neighbors for their holidays.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...
My Grandma Hopkins's home. I journaled about visiting it this summer and how even though it was very familiar it was also very empty because Grandma made this house a home.

FOR TODAY December 8, 2008...

Outside my window... it's gray, but the red leaves are cheery.

I am thinking... of too many things at once and my brain wants to explode!
I am thankful for... a new and exciting scrapbooking venture that I can't tell you about just yet! :o)
From the learning rooms... we made a model of the earth with an orange and a metal knitting needle (the axis).

From the kitchen... we are having "tired dinner" - baked potato bar featuring taco meat.

I am wearing... sweats and trying to keep warm - the thermostat says 70 but when you have virtually no insulation in your home it feels like 50!
I am creating... a top down cardigan from my friend's handspun for my oldest daughter (the one of the youngest is stalled as I need to make more yarn).
I am going... to go to Joyous Crafters at church tonight.

I am reading... Reimagining the Church by Frank Viola, Kasztner's Train: The True Story of an Unknown Hero of the Holocaust by Anna Porter and Right-Brained Children in a Left-Brained World by Jeffrey Freed and Laurie Parsons.

I am hoping... that this third bout of everyone being sick is the LAST!

I am hearing... Come All Ye Faithful on 3rd Day's Christmas CD.

Around the house... children are creating with Legos and laundry is waiting to be put away. (blogging is more fun!)

One of my favorite things... is my laptop, so that I can blog and try to catch up with email while still being with my family.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Recuperating and starting to bake for the cookies that we take to the neighbors for their holidays.
Here is picture thought I am sharing... I shared this on my old blog, but I'm shivering and needed a bit of summer. This is Lake Crescent in the Olympic National Park, Washington.
