Hi Everyone. Thank you again for all the prayers for Jack! This has been a busy week and it is only Wednesday.
Today Jack underwent a procedure to widen the esophagus at the point where there was stitching from the surgery. Amazingly Jack was getting some soft food down with only a 3 mm opening! That's about an 1/8"! Today the stitches were removed using endoscopic scissors... the first time the doctor had used them! And the opening was stretched to 10mm.
It was so much fun (lol) that they are going to repeat the procedure next Thursday. Please pray that Jack's recovery from this will be quick and as pain free as possible. Also pray that it will be successful so that not only can he eat more, but that there will be less gagging and issues with the chemo.
Next Monday begins the biggy and lots of prayers are appreciated. There is 6 weeks of both chemo 24/7 via a cartridge pump and radiation five days a week. The Lord has brought him and our family this far, guiding each step of the way and we don't expect that to stop any time soon, but it is still a big thing to face.
Grandma is working on rehab and doing pretty well all things considered.
Thank you for your love and prayers.
